Templates Templates are an easy solution to page design and constant updating. You can create a page using all the background graphics and layouts you wish. Then define which areas are editable and which are static. Once saved the template can be called up ad used everytime you start a new page. You no longer have to recreate the look to match your theme every time you create a new page . If you decide on a design change you can update the template and all of your changes carry through to the subsequent pages. |
Cascading Style Sheets Cascading style sheets are global definitions for every design element on a page. You can control the font size and color, text placement, background images, color scheme, and more by using a list of definitions and assigned variables. This does involve some coding so it is not particularly useful for beginners, but it is a great time saver for more advanced designers. The entire design of a site can be changed in just a few steps making new looks or developing several looks for a client easy. |
Course Builder Course builder is a plug in that loads into Dreamweaver. It creates online quizzes, drag and drop interactives, timers, rollovers, and other interactive items by inserting jevascript functions into the code. The system is free but must be downloaded from Macromedia and installed before you can use it. |
Advanced Tools Common Javascript tools, Meta tags that redirect users, ASP and other server-side data base languages, and a host of other items to amazing and delight. This page is just a list of amazingly cool items that for you to peruse and then try on your web site. Some are easy some are hard, but all are very cool and very useful. Spend some time playing. |
