Open Campus Policy Now Available

Beginning with the 2009 – 2010 school year, open campus has been approved for high schools. The policy change would not allow freshman students to leave school grounds. 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students, who do not have a regularly scheduled class period, may leave campus (including lunch). Click here for details about the open campus policy.

Second Semester 08-09 Finals

It is the policy of RCHS that no early exams will be given, Students may not take final exams before the scheduled date. Those students that need to miss a final exam should make prior arrangements with teachers for a makeup time. Those students that miss a final exam will receive a final grade for the class, not an "incomplete" on the report card. The final grade will reflect a "zero" for the final. Upon completion of the "makeup" final, the teacher will submit a grade change to the office so the transcript can be updated.

Bussing Update

DCSD Transportation leaders recently gathered feedback regarding proposed changes to bus routes for the 2009-10 school year. The input has been reviewed and each request given careful consideration. Consistent themes included a desire to maintain service inside gated communities, modifications to rural routes, more stops along corridor routes, and adding crossing guards in strategic locations. Based on the feedback provided, DCSD is making adjustments to the proposed bus routes which will include the addition of stops District-wide. An expanded crossing guard program is also being added with the help of the County's Safe Walk Plan. The team will continue to evaluate the plans and provide the best transportation service possible to families within budgetary constraints. Thank you for sharing your input.

Route information for the 2009-10 school year will be available on the School District website (www.dcsdk12.org) beginning May 18, 2009.
